This is a very easy flop proof recipe. If you’re not that much into baking like me… you will still be able to pull this one off.
Base:
2 cups flour
125g butter
½ cup sugar
1 egg
1t baking powder
salt
Beat butter and sugar until fluffy. Use a beater if you want – I prefer using my hand. Add egg and mix well. Add remaining ingredients to form a dough. If you find it a bit soft – add a little more flour and milk if needed. Press into pie dish and bake on 180ºC for ±20 mins. Let it cool before adding custard.
Filling – make custard as you normally would. I don’t usually like instant stuff and they usually taste horrible – but I found Moir’s instant custard to be very tasty – like how you would normally make it on the stove. Just add boiling water to it and whisk. Pour into crust. Dust with cinnamon powder. I leave mine in the fridge for a bit before serving.
